*Precaution To add a printer, open the driver-not freely-installed program, double-click the Add a Printer application, click the [Next] button. Double-click the printer name to continue the installation.The installation will start automatically. Click Continue when the installation is complete.

*Precaution Do not use the driver installer that is labelled "Canon driver." Do not use either "Canon" or "Canonical" in the name of the driver. Such drivers are not genuine Canon products. This driver is for genuine Canon products.

Now that the installation is complete, and you restart your computer, look for the new printer in the list of printers installed on your computer. If the new driver is installed properly, the printer will be found on your computer.

*Precaution When installing Windows updates, the driver will be installed automatically. While you are connected to the internet, Windows will download and install the driver automatically. If you choose to use Windows automatic driver updates, all future driver updates should automatically be installed.
