This free Windows software program is an archiver for files of various formats. It is for basically archiving any file that you wish so that you can store them safely without having to risk losing them or accidentally deleting them for any reason. You can make and open files of ZIP, RAR, Tar, or 7Z archive formats, as well as many others. I think this is very versatile in terms of which file types you can use and open with this, and that is what stands out the most in terms of features. It also can open RAR and ACE files, and this makes it very convenient to utilize when dealing with these formats. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes working or needs to work with various file formats, as this is an all-in-one tool as far as archiving goes. You can also use a command-line version for those who are very experienced with archiving and would like some more control over commands that go into it.

I pretty much gave up on PowerArchiver because of performance issues but with the release of 2016 that's completely changed This versions features have greatly improved over 2015. Also the Touch Screen Support is NICE and it supports ever format imaginable.
Up until version 9.2, this was a worthwhile addition to a toolkit. Since then, which coincides with the author's decision to make money the sole motivator [it had previously been utility to the average user] for the project, it is at best a poorly crafted, bloated helper for the seriously weak-minded. Not useless, but not really necessary either.
Bottom Line: While they managed to make it quicker with the 2018 version, this one is an elephant. Takes more than 2 seconds to open, everything is laggy, I know it's a preview, but so far it's a desaster!
Very good archiving program. I changed to PowerArchiver from WinZip Pro because WinZip charges user 10eur per year if you want to use latest version.PowerArchiver provides lifetime upgrades but do not has 64 bit version.Anyway, good work, keep it up!
These files were developed for use with MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 2) version 8.11.07.443. Others may download and use at their own risk. No warranty is given. All files are self extracting archives which contain a MicroStation DGN file and in some cases a TIF raster image file. These file(s) contain the graphics for the standard maps produced by TDOT's Mapping Division which can be used for development of title sheets and location maps for public hearing notices, hydraulic permits, etc.

More FAQ about using PGT can be found here. Q: The installer tells me that the installation directory could not be created. How can I solve this A: You must have the correct access rights in order to create the installation directory. Example: if you want to install PGT in /home/johndoe/ISOC-PGT you must have write-access for /home/johndoe Q: The installer of PGT fails with an obscure error message and I'm running Fedora Core 3 or 4 (Red Hat Linux) in combination with Java 1.4.2. A: Please install the latest Java version from the Sun web-site. Q: I have installed the PGT software. Now how do I run it A: If you're using Windows, the PGT installation software will by default create a shortcut on your Windows desktop and in the Start menu, that you can use to start PGT. For other operating systems (but for Windows as well), you can run the PGT by using the PGT start-up script which can be found in your PGT installation directory. You have selected the PGT installation directory during the installation process. Windows: The PGT start-up script is called: pgt.bat (double-click or start from the command line) Other operating systems: The PGT start-up script is called: pgt. It can be run by changing to the installation directory and typing ./pgt
I supposed that it's not big problem by two reasons:1) we don't need to uninstall previous version before installing new version.2) also probably it's unusual situation, when there is the change of DLL lock between uninstall and further install.
Forgive me for asking again (might already be asked somewhere here), is there any plan or inclusion in the 7-Zip roadmap to support the WinZIP's ZIPX JPEG Algorithm I tested the latest version (which is 15.05 Beta as of current writing) but sadly, it still gives me the dreaded 'Unsupported compression method' error.
