Orlando Fire Department provides exemplary care to the citizens of Orlando through treatment and transport of those patients with illnesses and injuries. All of our firefighters are certified EMTs or Paramedics. In 2015, the Orlando Fire Department responded to more than 60,000 emergency incidents ranging from fires and emergency medical calls to rescue and other emergency-type incidents. Of those, 60,000 calls more than 20,000 were medical transports.
The ability to download medical apps on mobile devices has made a wealth of mobile clinical resources available to HCPs.15 Medical apps for many purposes are available, including ones for electronic prescribing, diagnosis and treatment, practice management, coding and billing, and CME or e-learning.9,10 A broad choice of apps that assist with answering clinical practice and other questions at the point of care exist, such as: drug reference guides, medical calculators, clinical guidelines and other decision support aids, textbooks, and literature search portals.7,13,15 There are even mobile apps that simulate surgical procedures or that can conduct simple medical exams, such as hearing or vision tests.6,7 Many mobile apps are not intended to replace desktop applications, but are meant to complement them in order to provide a resource that has the potential to improve outcomes at the point of care.7 The use of medical apps has become frequent and widespread; 70% of medical school HCPs and students reported using at least one medical app regularly, with 50% using their favorite app daily.1,9
Specialized apps are also available for remote viewing of medical imaging scans.10 Mobile MIM is a free app for the iPad and iPhone, approved by the Food and Drug Administration, that allows remote viewing of x-rays and imaging scans when users cannot access imaging workstations.6 This software works with a paid subscription or pay-per-use plan using MIMCloud, a HIPAA-compliant server that allows users to store and share medical images.6 Images can be downloaded from the cloud and viewed with the MIMViewer paid app in any setting, whether during discussions with team members or patients.6
Emergency Response: Liberty County (ER:LC) is a free to play multiplayer city roleplay game in Roblox released and updated by Police Roleplay Community (PRC). The game is based around an open-world design, containing a city and countryside. Players are able to roleplay as a civilian, criminal, police officer, sheriff's deputy, firefighter, paramedic (EMS), and department of transportation (DOT) worker in the game. The game was first released in December 2018. ER:LC is the second game released by Police Roleplay Community, and eventually became the only focus of the team.
Just like many other city games in Roblox, Emergency Response: Liberty County gives the freedom for players to perform any roleplay and explore the map. Some objectives can be achieved to earn cash and XP, which can enhance the experience by allowing the purchase of better performing vehicles, weapons, and unlocking certain items.

Surviving sudden cardiac arrest relies on immediate medical attention, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED (automated external defibrillator) use. Mr. Hamlin was fortunate in that he was quickly surrounded by medical professionals armed with an emergency action plan, and experienced paramedics joined them within minutes. Now, even with the best, most rapid care, Americans are learning that recovery from cardiac arrest takes time.
Our rescue services include aero-medical transport to trauma centers and other medical facilities. Our air rescue helicopters are also used to perform search and rescue missions, and firefighting and reconnaissance operations involving large incidents, such as wildfires and major fires.

NFL medical professionals follow the NFL Concussion Protocol when identifying, diagnosing and treating player concussions. The Concussion Protocol, developed in 2011, is reviewed and revised each year to ensure that care reflects the most up-to-date medical information. To ensure consistent implementation of the protocol, the NFL and NFLPA developed an enforcement policy, which includes a process to investigate clubs that fail to follow the protocol and determine appropriate discipline - including fines and possible forfeiture of draft picks. The NFL then shares this data publicly each year. Guided by the experts at IQVIA, NFL medical committee members identify trends in how, where and when injuries happen, and assess how protocols and rules changes affect player safety. Notably, the 2021 season saw the lowest number of concussions in regular season games for the period of 2015 to 2021. The league has sustained a 25 percent reduction in concussions for each of the past four seasons (2018-2021).
