Thank you! This problem was making me go mad. I had searched the web for weeks trying to find a solution. Updating the Realtek audio driver to 6.0.1.8142 (date 5/8/2017) solved the problem for me. Good job!
Waves MaxxAudio Service Application is part of a software package that optimizes audio performance and is preinstalled and enabled by default in many prebuilds that use the Waves audio driver. It's used more for home entertainment than a typical desktop stereo system.
so i bought a used dell inspiron 15 5558 laptop which i think was upgraded from another OS to windows 8.1pro, i installed all drivers including a sound driver which was detected by the latest driver pack solutions program. However i think it did not download waves MaxxAudio driver. However, there are a couple of methods that can help reduce or eliminate the problem. In this guide, you will find 4 steps that should help you fix this. Some people found that simply updating the audio drivers did the job. Others managed to reduce CPU consumption by disabling the Waves Audio Service altogether.

This happens Withjaws or NVDA. I would love the instructions please because it does this to me in word or just using a browser and I would love to avoid sending in my laptop once the semester is over to get it fixed.Melissa toggle quoted messageShow quoted text On Nov 30, 2020, at 5:19 AM, William Wong wrote:Hi,The issue here was first discussed within the Win 10 mailing list.I bought a new Dell desktop and I found that after using for several minutes the ram was abnormally behaved, i.e. without using much of a ram consuming program, the ram is almost full. The Dell technical, pointed out that the Windows Grapth Audio isolation was the process that caused the problem. But actually it is not, many thanks to Luke who pointed out to me that after changing the sound driver from Realtech HD Audio to Windows default Windows HD audio, and the ram issue has gone.I want to bring this issue to your attention, seeing if this is a nvda issue if so I will make a issue on github. Thanks,William $('#quoted-176365571').on('show.bs.collapse', function () { $('#qlabel-176365571').text(\"Hide quoted text\"); }) $('#quoted-176365571').on('hide.bs.collapse', function () { $('#qlabel-176365571').text(\"Show quoted text\"); }) More All Messages By This Member displayLikeStats(\"/g/nvda\", 0, 176365571, false) luke scholey $('#timedispmsg176367515').replaceWith(DisplayShortTime(1606749335398740633, false)); #79372 Hi MelissaI know how annoying this can be. If NVDA were the source of the problem it should occur regardless of the device drivers in place. Memory leaks, much like fluid leaks, have sources, and if you patch a given source and the leaking stops entirely, you know the culprit. Also note that Melissa states that she has the issue with either JAWS or NVDA, which points even more toward something external to either one of those programs as being the root cause. I hope someone reports these findings to Dell. Many manufacturers, and Dell is one of them, customize device drivers provided by the actual hardware manufacturers to their own liking. I've got Realtek audio drivers on several machines and have never encountered this issue either with JAWS or NVDA. The finger is pointing directly at Dell and some tweak(s) they've made to the audio drivers they supply with their machines.-- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042

This situation is very limited in scope and requires a specific combination of computer brand, Dell, and audio drivers (probably customized), Realtek, in order for the issue to occur.-- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042

If this were to change, and someone has a link to a Dell supplied, official driver then please send a message containing same and I will approve it after checking. For the moment, though, this topic is on moderated status, which essentially means locked unless I were to receive something related to an official fix from Dell or something supplied directly by Microsoft or Realtek that would resolve the issue if installed.-- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042
This download provides the Realtek* High Definition Audio Driver for the 3.5mm audio jack on the Intel NUC Kit NUC10i7FN, NUC10i5FN and NUC10i3FN. This audio driver is required if you plan to connect a microphone or headset to the audio jack.
In typical situations, a Windows Update subcomponent should automatically update and maintain this driver. However, there are times when an out-of-date audio driver that is incompatible with your current OS version leaves you helpless.
A simple and effective way of fixing driver-related errors is by using a Driver Management Tool such as DriverDownloader (download link below). Use our search tool or the links below to search for help/ articles on Dell audio/ sound driver problems.
have you tried the free dell audio drivers scan (download driver update tool link) The report will list the required drivers which you can then either search for online or download using the driver update tool
then thought of uninstalling all the audio drivers and the re-installing. So downloaded latest IDT audio driver from dell site, uninstalled all audio drivers and then restarted computer, then installed newly downloaded driver, again restarted and bingo. Now works fine.Worked for me (Dell Inspiron 15 (N5010))
@Ian_Lewczynski -- IT at my company installed an earlier version of the audio driver on my PC from the dell website and it fixed it: Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_5CH91_WIN_6.0.8960.1_A02.EXE. Hoping the fix sticks. I also had problems with zoom being quiet as well, but haven't tested this yet.
Thank you for pulling this information together! I was able to resolve two problems on my UX31A Zenbook Prime with the keyboard backlight not working after suspend/resume without restarting by upgrading the ATK Package, and improved the scrolling performance by upgrading the Smart Gesture driver. The Asus Driver and Tools support page has no Windows 10 OS selection for my four year old system. Your recommended drivers did the trick. I also got some additional features by upgrading the Realtek audio drivers.
Man, I really have to thank you so much! I upgraded to Windows 10 and installed the latest Realtek audio driver, but the volume was jumping to highest levels as I was alternating among Media Monkey, YouTube, etc. That shit was driving me nuts, but this audio driver solved the problem!
